History

Alvie Consolidated School was officially opened in 1957 by the Honourable J.S. Bloomfield MLA.

The school sits on approximately 15 acres. In the early 1990’s, 3 acres were developed into wetlands and includes a pond, bird hide and a plantation of native vegetation.

Alvie Consolidated School was selected as a case study for successful recruitment and retention strategies in rural areas. The outcome was positive, showing Alvie Consolidated School is better than state averages in retaining graduate teachers.

On the 14th October 2008, Alvie Consolidated School received a prestigious Accreditation from the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development for Performance and Development Culture.
